Few will ever forget that that tragic day in 2007 when 27 students and five Virginia Tech faculty members were murdered and 23 others were injured in the quiet town of Blacksburg, VA.

Defensive Countermeasures Institute, LLC is teaming with colleges and universities across the country to offer campus safety programming.

Today’s campuses, like any other community, are faced with the real prospect of crime; awareness prevention better equips every member of the community to protect themselves and deter these threats.

Defensive Countermeasures Institute, LLC offers 30-120 minute interactive training sessions that address personal security techniques while on campus and in adult social settings.

Additionally, National Campus Safety Awareness Month, which comes at the beginning of the new school year, offered a perfect opportunity to provide students with critical awareness that they need to help stay safe on campus.  Now that the official Awareness Month has passed, we’d like to remind everyone of the importance of staying vigilant 24/7.  Students and faculty should be in a heighten state of awareness throughout all twelve months of the year.
